Ghanaian Female Footballer Stabbed To Death By Robbers While Working Second Job As Tricycle Driver

Ghanaian women’s football has been thrown into mourning following the tragic murder of Agartha Takyiwaa, a 23-year-old defender with Fabulous Ladies FC.

Takyiwaa, popularly known as “One Cedi”, was brutally stabbed to death on Thursday evening October 29, 2026, at Afrancho New Site near Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

According to Fabulous Ladies head coach Nana Atuahene, Agartha had just finished training with her teammates that day and resumed her second job as a commercial tricycle (Pragya) rider to support herself.

Around 10:30pm, she picked up a female passenger and was transporting her to Afrancho New Site when she was attacked by criminals who struggled with her over her tricycle.

She was stabbed multiple times in the thigh, stomach and neck, leading to her death with the assailants making away with her tricycle and mobile phone.

The suspects were tracked via the stolen phone’s location and were found in possession of the stolen tricycle and phone.

Police investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and motive.
