Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has expressed strong confidence ahead of the 2027 general election, predicting that the forthcoming political contest could be the easiest he has encountered throughout his political career.

According to a report from an interview aired on TVC News on Saturday, October 31, 2026, Wike shared his views on the political situation in the country and the expected competition involving President Bola Tinubu and other political actors.

During the interview, the minister acknowledged that elections are usually difficult but maintained that the circumstances surrounding the next general election would make it different from previous contests. He expressed his position, stating, “I have never had an election that was easy, but this one will be the easiest, as far as I know.”

His comments come at a time when political parties and influential figures are gradually positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 polls. Various political groups are expected to strengthen their structures, build alliances and begin mobilising supporters across different parts of the country.

The forthcoming election is also expected to generate intense discussions about the performance of the Tinubu administration, particularly regarding the economy, security, infrastructure and other important national issues.
