Duduzile Zuma-Spambudla Turns Up At EFF’S Massive Tshela Thupa Rally In Soweto

Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, daughter of former president Jacob Zuma, has attracted political attention after being spotted at the Economic Freedom Fighters’ (EFF) Tshela Thupa Rally at Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Saturday, 31 October 2026.

Her appearance at the high-profile gathering has sparked speculation about her political future and possible alignment with the red berets, particularly after her departure from the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP).

According to reports, Zuma-Sambudla was seen wearing a T-shirt bearing the words “Freedom Fighters”, further fuelling speculation about whether she could be considering joining the EFF.

However, there has been no official announcement confirming that she has joined the party, and her attendance should not automatically be interpreted as a formal political move.

Her presence comes at an important moment for the EFF, which is using its traditional Tshela Thupa Rally as the grand finale of its 2026 Local Government Elections campaign.

Thousands of supporters dressed in the party’s trademark red regalia gathered at Orlando Stadium, with EFF leader Julius Malema expected to deliver his final campaign message and outline the party’s municipal service delivery priorities.

The rally, branded by the EFF as the “Mother of All Rallies”, is intended to mobilise supporters ahead of the November 4 local government elections.

The party has placed emphasis on addressing unemployment, municipal service delivery failures, access to basic services and the insourcing of municipal workers.

Zuma-Sambudla’s appearance is likely to generate further discussion about political movements and relationships involving prominent figures associated with the MKP and other opposition parties.

For now, questions remain about whether her attendance was simply an expression of support for the event or an indication of a possible political realignment.

The EFF is hoping its final campaign gathering will strengthen its support ahead of Wednesday’s vote.
