Akwatia MP Vows to Demonstrate Against Any Attempt to Force Ablakwa to Resign
The Member of Parliament for Akwatia, Bernard Bediako Baidoo, has publicly expressed strong admiration for Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, declaring that he would personally lead a demonstration if the minister is pressured to resign from his position.
Speaking during a discussion on Newsfile, the Akwatia MP indicated that Ablakwa had earned his respect through his conduct and approach to public service.
According to Bernard Bediako Baidoo, he would not remain silent if any attempt were made to force the Foreign Affairs Minister out of office. He stressed that he was prepared to organise and lead a public demonstration to register his opposition to such a development.
His comments highlight the level of confidence and support Ablakwa enjoys among some members of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), particularly amid ongoing political discussions surrounding the minister’s performance and recent public engagements.
The Akwatia MP’s declaration is also likely to attract attention because of the strong language he used to demonstrate his willingness to defend the minister against calls for his resignation.
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has remained a prominent figure in Ghana’s political landscape, with his activities as Foreign Affairs Minister attracting considerable public and political attention.
Baidoo’s remarks have added another dimension to discussions about the minister, as political figures continue to express different opinions about his performance and role in government.
The statement is expected to generate reactions from both supporters and critics, especially regarding whether political officeholders should face calls for resignation over disagreements surrounding their work.
For Bernard Bediako Baidoo, however, his position appears clear: he holds Ablakwa in high regard and would personally take to the streets if the minister were asked to step down.
