Igbos Should Not Gamble With Obi; Tinubu Has Four Years Left Then Power Rotates Back North —Okorocha

Former Imo State governor Senator Rochas Okorocha has advised the southeast against gambling with Peter Obi in 2027, insisting President Tinubu has only four years left before power rotates back north.

Speaking on Arise News, Okorocha said even the north prefers a Tinubu with just four years remaining so that power can return to them quickly, rather than gambling on another four-year tenure.

He said politics is progressive and strategic, commended the rainbow coalition idea, and recalled that he delivered 25 percent of Imo votes for President Buhari at a time when the president was the most hated man in the southeast.

In Okorocha’s words: “Well, let it be understood that Tinubu has taken four years. If it was a different story and he had not taken four years, I would not be in this game. He has only four years left. The north will tell you they prefer a Tinubu who has just four years left to finish, so that power can come back to them, than gambling with Obi who also says four years. So these are some of the issues. Politics is progressive. And we have seen the rainbow coalition, which I commend, because it means going beyond party lines to support the candidate you believe can do better for our nation.”
