Minerals Commission CEO must be removed—Kpebu
Legal Practitioner Martin Kpebu believes the Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Commission must be sacked.
According to him, the current chief executive’s actions toward Nawara Mining Company Limited go against the government’s decision on indigenous mining in Ghana.
He holds the position that the chief executive cannot be made to continue occupying the position when he is contravening the laws of the country.
“The Chief Executive Officer for the Minerals Commission must go,” he said.
Adding that “If the Minerals Commission wants to throw away the law, we will not let that happen. The law has been there way before the person occupying the position was appointed. You cannot do away with the law just because you want to favour someone close to government.”.
He continued, “How can you stand on an 8 million dollars debt and throw away someone’s investment of over 100 million dollars? What does the law says about these debts and how to retrieve your money?
