Mtolo Condemns MK Party Treatment of Nomvalo, Urges Him to Take Time Before Joining Another Party

Former African National Congress (ANC) KwaZulu-Natal provincial secretary Bheki Mtolo has criticised the treatment of former uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party secretary-general Sibonelo Nomvalo, saying no committed revolutionary should celebrate what he described as the actions of Jacob Zuma and his associates against Nomvalo.

Mtolo also cautioned political parties against rushing to recruit Nomvalo following his departure from the MK Party.

According to Mtolo, attempts to persuade Nomvalo to join another political organisation at this stage could amount to exploiting his current circumstances rather than genuinely supporting him.

He argued that Nomvalo should be given sufficient time to recover from the political developments surrounding his removal before deciding on his next move.

“That would be recruitment meant for exploitation. Let’s allow him to heal, then once he has healed, he can make his sober next move,” Mtolo reportedly said.

However, Mtolo adopted a particularly strong position towards the MK Party, insisting that it should never be forgiven by what he described as any sane black person.

His comments add to the growing political debate surrounding Nomvalo’s removal and the internal tensions within the MK Party, with questions emerging about the party’s leadership and treatment of senior members.
