Tinubu Nominates Six Executive Directors for NMDPRA

According to reports by Punch on Friday, October 30, 2026, President Bola Tinubu has nominated six executive directors for the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority and sought the confirmation of the Senate.

The nominations comprise three reappointments and three new nominees, all of whom will serve five-year terms upon confirmation. Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in a statement.

The three renominated executive directors are Mr Abiodun Adeniji for Finance and Accounts; Mr Ogbugo Ukoha for Distribution Systems, Storage and Retailing Infrastructure; and Dr Mustapha Lamorde for Health, Safety, Environment and Community.

The three new nominees are Mr Mobolaji Musa for Hydrocarbon Processing Plants, Installations and Transportation Infrastructure; Ms Ogechukwu Modie for Economic Regulations and Strategic Planning; and Mr Said Abutalib for Corporate Services and Administration.

The President urged the Senate to consider the nominations expeditiously to ensure institutional continuity and strengthen the Authority’s oversight capacity. He also approved the appointment of Mrs Jumoke Gafar as Secretary to the Board and Legal Adviser, subject to the completion of statutory processes under the Petroleum Industry Act.
