“Leave Raila Odinga Out of it” Mt Kenya Leader Boldly Tells Gachagua, Sends Him a Warning

Dr Caroline W. Karugu has criticised former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for allegedly dragging the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga into political disagreements.

In a strongly worded statement, Karugu told Gachagua to find political opponents elsewhere instead of involving Raila in his battles. She warned him against challenging anyone over Raila’s legacy, particularly his contribution to relations between the Kikuyu and Luo communities.

Karugu described Raila as a bridge-builder who worked to unite communities rather than divide Kenyans along ethnic lines. She insisted that the former Prime Minister should be allowed to rest in peace instead of having his name drawn into ongoing political confrontations.

She further challenged Gachagua to demonstrate courage by fighting his own political battles without invoking Raila’s name.l everywhere.

Karugu serves as Principal Secretary in the State Department for East African Community Affairs and Acting PS in the State Department for ASALs and Regional Development.
