Ghanaian forward Douglas Owusu continued his impressive trophy-winning run after helping Hapoel Tel Aviv clinch the Israeli League Cup, popularly known as the Toto Cup, following a thrilling 3-2 victory over city rivals Maccabi Tel Aviv on Thursday.

The former Red Star Belgrade attacker was part of the Hapoel side that secured the prestigious domestic cup triumph, adding another medal to his growing collection since the start of the year.

Owusu lasted 80 minutes in the fiercely contested final before making way for Amit Lemkin as Hapoel held on to their advantage to overcome their city rivals and lift the trophy.

The triumph represents Owusu’s third title in just five months, underlining his remarkable start to life in European football.

Before completing his move to Israel, the Ghanaian attacker enjoyed a successful spell with Serbian giants Red Star, where he helped the club win both the Serbian Super Liga title and the Serbian Cup.

His latest success with Hapoel means he has now added the Israeli Toto Cup to his collection, maintaining his impressive record of winning silverware across two different European leagues.

Beyond his contribution to the team’s trophy success, Owusu has also been making his presence felt on the pitch this season.

The Ghanaian has registered three goals and one assist in 12 appearances across all competitions, establishing himself as an important attacking option for the Israeli outfit.

His continued development and ability to contribute to successful teams will be encouraging for the forward as he looks to build on his impressive achievements and make an even greater impact in Israeli football.

At just five months into his latest European adventure, Owusu already has three trophies to show for his efforts.
