Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has pledged the state government’s continued support for CapitalSage Holdings as the company unveiled its new global headquarters in Ibadan to mark its 10th anniversary.

Makinde gave the assurance on Wednesday during the opening ceremony, which brought together traditional rulers, including the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rashidi Ladoja; and the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, alongside business leaders, partners, employees and other stakeholders.

The governor commended the company’s founder and Group Managing Director, John Alamu, for building the business from an initial capital of N100,000 into a diversified group with interests spanning several sectors.

He said entrepreneurship, skills, knowledge and increased production were essential to translating Nigeria’s natural resources into economic prosperity.

“Somebody has to take the risk on behalf of the people, so John Alamu and team, I congratulate you. I thank you for taking the risk on our behalf,” Makinde said.

The governor noted that the group had grown to about 20 companies, with their headquarters based in Ibadan, describing the development as an opportunity to create jobs and stimulate economic activities in the state.

“When I was looking at your profile, I saw that you now have about 20 companies in the group. And those 20 companies are headquartered here.

“I can assure you that we will continue to give our support as a government because we want you to continue to provide jobs and grow the economy of Oyo State,” Makinde added.

Founded by Alamu 10 years ago, CapitalSage Holdings has expanded into financial services and technology, agriculture and food processing, manufacturing, healthcare, and cross-border payment solutions.

Speaking at the event, Alamu said the opening of the headquarters reflected the group’s ambition to build globally competitive businesses while maintaining its roots in Nigeria.

“A business can have global ambitions without abandoning its roots. From Ibadan, we can build for Nigeria. From Nigeria, we can build for Africa. And from Africa, we can build for the world. That is what we are doing,” he said.

Reflecting on the company’s journey, Alamu said its first decade had been driven by the belief that challenges could be transformed into business opportunities.

“We began 10 years ago with conviction. The conviction that problems could become businesses,” he said.

He added that the group’s next decade would focus not merely on expansion but also on building sustainable businesses capable of serving future generations.

“So, for us, the next 10 years cannot simply be about becoming bigger. They must be about becoming stronger, more enduring and more consequential. We want to build businesses that a generation after us can inherit, improve and take further,” Alamu said.

The anniversary celebration featured the official opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony, speeches by dignitaries and presentations showcasing businesses across the group’s portfolio.

As part of the celebrations, CapitalSage Holdings announced plans for a three-day public exhibition from October 29 to 31 at CapitalSage House, Kenneth Dike, Secretariat Road, Ibadan.

The exhibition, scheduled to open daily at 10 a.m., will allow visitors to explore the group’s businesses, discover its products and services, and interact with representatives.

The company said it remained committed to expanding its operations, strengthening partnerships and contributing to economic growth through enterprise, innovation and job creation.
