Ghana Needs Leaders Who Solve Problem With Wisdom,Not Who Turns Argument Into Pepper Spray—Bongo

According to a Post on Bongo Ideas official facebook account on Thursday, October 29,2026,Ghanaian social commentator Albert Nat Hyde, popularly known as Bongo Ideas, has criticised former Awutu Senya East Member of Parliament and New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Women’s Organiser, Hawa Koomson, over a reported threat to use pepper spray on Obuasi Senior High Technical School (SHTS) headmaster, Zakaria Abdulai.

In a Facebook post, Bongo Ideas questioned Koomson’s judgment and maturity as a political leader, arguing that her reported remarks were inappropriate, particularly as the allegations surrounding the headmaster had yet to be conclusively established.

The commentator expressed concern over what he described as Koomson’s repeated references to pepper spray whenever controversies arise, questioning whether such language was appropriate for someone occupying a senior position within the NPP.

“If I should come into contact with Obuasi SHTS headmaster, Zakaria Abdulai, I will use pepper spray on him,” Koomson was reportedly quoted as saying.

Reacting to the alleged statement, Bongo Ideas asked whether pepper spray was the only language the former lawmaker understood, insisting that her position as the NPP National Women’s Organiser demanded a higher level of maturity, restraint and leadership.

He argued that the reported threat was particularly troubling because the allegations involving the headmaster had not been conclusively proven, suggesting that public figures should exercise caution before making statements that could be interpreted as intimidation.

Bongo Ideas also referenced Koomson’s defeat in the Awutu Senya East parliamentary election, arguing that she should be concentrating on rebuilding her political image rather than making remarks that could raise further questions about her judgment.
