I Read That Tinubu Would Travel To Saudi Arabia To Pray,Prayers Are Answered Even In Nigeria—Makinde

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has reacted to reports that President Bola Tinubu intends to travel to Saudi Arabia to pray for Nigeria, insisting that citizens can seek divine intervention for the country without leaving its shores. Makinde made the remarks in a video shared by Channels Television, where he encouraged Nigerians to pray for the nation and its leaders amid the challenges confronting the country.

The governor explained that he had come across social media reports suggesting that Tinubu planned to visit Saudi Arabia for prayers. Responding to the reports, Makinde emphasised that Nigerians could offer prayers for their country while remaining at home.

He stated, “Prayers are answered even in Nigeria,” adding that citizens should continue praying for the country and those entrusted with leadership responsibilities.

The governor also criticised the Tinubu administration and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), calling for greater transparency in communicating the country’s condition to the public.

According to Makinde, political leaders have a responsibility to acknowledge the difficulties citizens experience and provide honest assessments of national challenges. He maintained that Nigerians deserve information that reflects the realities of their daily lives.

Beyond his reaction to the reported trip, the Oyo governor outlined his economic priorities, particularly the need to create conditions that would allow businesses to operate and expand successfully.

Makinde argued that improving the business environment could attract investment, stimulate economic activity and generate employment opportunities for Nigerians. He suggested that policies supporting businesses would be important for achieving sustainable economic growth.
