The Tamale-based artiste made the revelation during an interview in which he recounted a conversation with the dancehall star about his birthday and an unusual request for 20 cows as a gift.

According to Fancy Gadam, there is a deeper significance behind the name “One Don,” and not everyone can attain the level required to be associated with the title.

He explained that the meaning is connected to something he and Shatta Wale understand, although he did not provide further details about the alleged spiritual connection.

“There’s some spiritual thing behind Shatta Wale’s One Don name. If you’ve not reached there, no one can call you One Don. It’s only Shatta Wale and I who know the secret. If you don’t get to that pedigree, you can never be called that name,” Fancy Gadam said.

His comments have generated interest because they suggest that the title, which has become closely associated with Shatta Wale, means more to the two musicians than a mere nickname.

Shatta Wale reportedly asked Fancy Gadam for 20 cows

During the interview, Fancy Gadam also recounted how Shatta Wale contacted him ahead of his birthday and requested 20 cows as a present.

According to the northern Ghanaian musician, Shatta Wale told him that his birthday was approaching and asked him to visit with the animals as a gift.

“When he called me, he said his birthday was coming, so he would want me to come and pass through for him. If I’m coming, he needs 20 cows as his birthday gift, and I said no problem, I would give it to him,” he recounted.

The story has added another talking point to the relationship between the two artistes, particularly given the scale of the gift Shatta Wale reportedly requested.

However, Fancy Gadam did not indicate in the account whether the 20 cows were eventually delivered.

Fancy Gadam further explained that the conversation took an unexpected turn when Shatta Wale reportedly spoke about something that had been given to both of them by a person he referred to as “Baba.”

According to the musician, he initially did not understand who Shatta Wale was referring to and asked him to explain.

Shatta Wale allegedly responded that he meant their father, prompting Fancy Gadam to say he then remembered what the dancehall star was talking about.

“Then he said, ‘I know that what Baba gave him and I, no one has it again.’ I was confused, so I asked who Baba was, and he said our father. Then I remembered,” Fancy Gadam added.

Although Fancy Gadam linked the conversation to the spiritual significance he associates with Shatta Wale’s title, he did not publicly explain exactly what the alleged gift from “Baba” was.

He subsequently praised Shatta Wale’s success and suggested that they shared a special blessing.
