Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu Faces Complications after Surgery

According to a report by The Cable on Thursday, October 29, 2026, Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu is recovering from surgery after experiencing unexpected complications, according to a statement from her management.

The actress, who is still undergoing treatment, shared an update on her health in a video posted on her Instagram page on Wednesday.

In the video, Nwosu was seen lying on a hospital bed as she addressed the public about her condition.

Her management said the actress had yet to fully recover but decided to personally express her gratitude to everyone who supported her during her health challenges.

According to the statement, more than three months have passed since supporters rallied around Nwosu with prayers, financial assistance and messages of encouragement when she needed help.

The management expressed appreciation to everyone who contributed financially, shared her story, sent messages or kept her in their prayers.

“Over three months ago, so many of you showed up with love, prayers, and support when she needed it most,” the statement read.

“We are still incredibly grateful for every single person who gave, shared her story, sent a message, or kept her in their prayers.”

The statement disclosed that Nwosu had undergone one surgery since her health crisis began, although her recovery had been complicated by unforeseen challenges.

“Since then, she has undergone one surgery, but her recovery journey has come with some unexpected complications. While she is still healing and not quite back to herself yet, she felt it was important to come before you personally, say thank you, and let you know how things have been,” the management added.

The actress’s team said she was taking her recovery one day at a time while hoping for complete healing and renewed strength.

“It has been a journey, and we are taking it one day at a time, trusting God for complete healing and strength for the days ahead,” the statement said.

The management also appealed to members of the public to continue remembering the actress in their thoughts and prayers as she navigates the recovery process.

It added that further gestures of financial assistance would be appreciated by Nwosu and her family as she continues receiving treatment.

The latest update comes months after the actress appealed for financial assistance in July, disclosing that she had been hospitalised and needed N30 million to undergo three surgeries for an undisclosed medical condition.

Her appeal attracted support from Alex Otti, governor of Abia State, who fulfilled a pledge to assist the actress by paying N25 million directly to the hospital where she was receiving treatment.

Nwosu’s health struggles have attracted public attention over the years. In 2012, she reportedly sought N6 million to help address kidney and heart-related health problems.

The actress has remained a familiar face in the Nigerian film industry, and news of her latest health challenges has prompted renewed calls for support from her fans and well-wishers.
