Chiefs Drop Official Update On November 4 Fixture

Major PSL Fixture Shake-Up Forced by Elections, Postponing AmaZulu Clash

In an update to their forthcoming Betway Premiership schedule, Kaizer Chiefs have informed supporters that their home match against AmaZulu FC, which was originally set to take place on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, has been rescheduled.

Following the decision to declare 4 November a public holiday for South Africa’s local government elections, the club made the announcement on Wednesday, 28 October. Every other Premier Soccer League (PSL) match that was supposed to take place that day has also been postponed, so the delay isn’t limited to Amakhosi.

This news means that Chiefs fans will have to wait a little longer to see their team play AmaZulu. But the Amakhosi Faithful can rest assured that as soon as the league announces the new date, the club will share more details.

Chiefs stated in its official statement that the decision was related to the impending municipal elections.

According to the club, Chiefs will inform supporters of the updated information once the PSL has communicated the new dates for the affected matches.

According to the club’s statement, no new date for the AmaZulu match has been announced. Fans shouldn’t put their faith in social media posts claiming to be from the league unless the league officially announces its new schedule.

The league’s scheduled schedule was impacted by the election-day public holiday, so the postponement is more of an administrative adjustment than a sporting decision.

Seven Betway Premiership matches scheduled for November 4th are encompassed in the decision.

Since neither Mamelodi Sundowns nor Milford FC had a scheduled match on that date, they are unaffected.

Once the PSL announces the new dates, the participating clubs will need to make necessary adjustments to their preparations. With the changing of the seasons, coaches may also have to reevaluate their strategies for managing their players and training schedules.

On Saturday, October 31st, at FNB Stadium, Chiefs will face Orlando Pirates, their bitter rivals, in the Soweto Derby. This match will take place before the rescheduled AmaZulu match. The scheduled start time for the match is 15:30.

With bragging rights and important league points on the line, the derby continues to be a crucial match for both teams.

The rescheduled league schedule will take a back seat to Fernando Da Cruz and his team’s preparation for the Pirates.
