Sheikh Masussuka: The Claim By Ansaru Is Misleading, We Have An Idea Of Who The Killers Are–Muhammad

An Abuja-based Islamic scholar, Dr Muhammad Muhammad, popularly known as Serikin Malami Africa, has described the reported claim that Ansaru killed Sheikh Yahaya Ibrahim Masussuka as misleading and baseless.

In a video shared by Trust TV, Muhammad made the statement while attending the burial of Abubakar Adam, who was killed alongside Sheikh Masussuka in Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State.

Adam was buried on Wednesday morning after funeral prayers at Sheikh Zakariya Qur’anic School in Sabuwar Unguwa, Katsina metropolis. Islamic scholars, associates and supporters attended the burial.

Speaking about the killings, Muhammad said they had an idea of who was responsible but would remain calm and allow the relevant authorities to investigate the incident.

He urged followers of the late cleric to give peace a chance and avoid taking actions that could cause unrest while security agencies work to establish the facts.

Muhammad also cautioned against accepting the reported claim of responsibility by Ansaru without proper investigation, stressing that the authorities should determine who carried out the killings.

He added that the Islamic preaching movement would continue despite Sheikh Masussuka’s death, noting that it existed before the cleric and would not end because of his passing.

In his words, “The claim by Ansaru is misleading and baseless. We have an idea of who the killers are, but we choose to remain calm and patient, give peace a chance, and allow the relevant authorities to do their jobs.”
