Stonebwoy Fires Back At Kwabena Bobie Over Comparison With Shatta Wale

Stonebwoy has responded to radio presenter Kwabena Bobie after the broadcaster compared his character with that of Shatta Wale and said he preferred the latter’s personality.

The exchange followed a video circulating online in which Bobie explained why he favoured Shatta Wale. According to the presenter, the dancehall musician openly expresses himself and is willing to speak up whenever something displeases him.

Bobie contrasted that approach with his perception of Stonebwoy, suggesting that the BHIM Nation president tends to keep his feelings to himself rather than openly addressing issues.

Stonebwoy took exception to the description, arguing that Bobie could have expressed his personal preference without making remarks he considered disrespectful to his character.

In a post on X on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, the musician wrote, “See how this man disrespectfully describes me for no reason.”

He also rejected the suggestion that he harbours anger or suppresses his feelings, explaining that his decision to speak publicly depends on when he considers it appropriate.

“I hold nothing in my heart. I speak when I choose to, not when others expect me to,” Stonebwoy stated.

The musician further acknowledged that people are entitled to support whichever artiste they prefer. However, he argued that expressing a preference for one musician should not require portraying another negatively or attempting to make that artiste unpopular.

His response has brought renewed attention to the public discussion surrounding the personalities of the two Ghanaian dancehall stars and the comparisons frequently made between them.

While Bobie’s comments focused on how he perceives the musicians’ approaches to expressing their feelings, Stonebwoy’s response centred on the distinction between personal preference and what he views as an unfair character assessment.

The exchange comes weeks after Shatta Wale publicly expressed support for Stonebwoy at ShattaFest in Ho. During the event, Shatta Wale declared that nobody could prevent him from loving or supporting his fellow musician.

That public show of support offered a different dimension to the relationship between the two artistes, whose interactions have often attracted attention from fans and entertainment observers.

Stonebwoy’s latest comments make clear that he does not object to people choosing Shatta Wale over him. His concern, as expressed in his post, is that such preferences should be communicated without unnecessary personal attacks or negative characterisations.
