40-year-old bread seller found dead in room at Tanoso

Residents of Tanoso in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region have been left unsettled after a 40-year-old bread seller was found dead in her room on Wednesday morning.

The woman, identified only as Anita, had reportedly not been seen for about four days before neighbours became concerned over her prolonged absence.

She was discovered after a residents came in search for her, prompting neighbours to notice her absence. It was through the search that they perceived a strong stench emanating from her room.

Upon peering through her window, residents spotted her motionless body and immediately mobilised help to force entry into the room.

Ashanti Regional Police Crime Scene Management team and officers from Tanoso Police Station who were called to the scene assessed the scene and retrieved the body for preservation and investigations.

The body has since been deposited to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

Further details, including circumstances leading to her demise are yet to be established.

The discovery has sparked fear among residents, although the circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear.
