Bradley Grobler Mourns The Passing Of Legendary Father Les Grobler

South African football has been left mourning following the passing of former Moroka Swallows striker Les Grobler, the father of Stellenbosch FC forward Bradley Grobler.

Bradley is reportedly set to miss Stellenbosch’s Carling Knockout clash against Durban City on Wednesday as he grieves the loss of his father, whose influence on his football career extended far beyond the family home.

Les was not only Bradley’s father but also his first football coach, guiding him from the age of three until he secured his first professional contract at 19.

Their relationship was built around a shared love for football, with Les playing a significant role in shaping his son’s development and helping him pursue a career in the professional game.

For Bradley, the loss represents the passing of a father, mentor and the person who helped lay the foundation for his football journey. The bond they shared through the sport is expected to remain an important part of his legacy.

Les was remembered for his connection to South African football through his time as a striker for Moroka Swallows, while his influence on Bradley’s career added a deeply personal dimension to his contribution to the game.

The news has prompted an outpouring of sympathy, with condolences directed towards Bradley and the wider Grobler family during this difficult period.

Although Bradley’s reported absence could affect Stellenbosch’s preparations for their Carling Knockout encounter, football takes a back seat as the forward and his family deal with their loss.

The South African football community joins the Grobler family in mourning the passing of Les Grobler and remembering the special father-and-son relationship that helped shape Bradley’s career.

May his soul rest in peace, and may his family find strength and comfort during this difficult time. 🕊️🖤
