Delali Serwoepkor Says Businesspeople Praise Sammy Gyamfi’s GoldBod Work as Ghana’s Economy Booms

A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Team, Delali Serwoepkor, has said Ghanaian businesspeople are happy with Sammy Gyamfi’s work at GoldBod because the economy is booming. He made the remark during a discussion covered by GHOne TV, drawing attention to the performance of the state gold body and its impact on the wider economy.

The comment places Sammy Gyamfi’s role at GoldBod under the spotlight, framing it as a driver of positive economic sentiment among the business community. According to Serwoepkor, the confidence expressed by businesspeople is tied directly to what he described as a booming economy, a claim that will likely invite both support and scrutiny from political observers.

GoldBod, the state institution responsible for managing Ghana’s gold resources, has been a focal point in national discussions about resource management, revenue generation and the value derived from the country’s mineral wealth. Praise for its work from within the NDC communications team reflects the governing party’s broader effort to highlight economic achievements under its administration.

The remark has begun to circulate on social media, where reactions are expected to be divided along political lines. Supporters of the government are likely to cite it as evidence of progress, while critics will question whether the economic picture painted matches the lived experiences of ordinary Ghanaians and businesses.

As the debate develops, attention will remain on GoldBod’s operations and on how the government communicates its economic record. Statements such as Serwoepkor’s are part of a wider political conversation about the state of the economy and the performance of key institutions in the lead-up to future electoral contests.
