Mahama Is the Best in Africa, Other Presidents Should Copy Him — Nollywood Actor Declares

Veteran Nollywood actor and musician Harry B Anyanwu has commended Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama for what he considers his effective leadership, describing him as the best-performing leader on the African continent at the moment.

The Nigerian actor made the remarks while in Ghana for the production of a new movie, where he is working alongside a number of prominent actors from both Ghana and Nigeria.

According to Anyanwu, President Mahama is demonstrating the kind of leadership that other African heads of state should emulate, and he encouraged leaders across the continent to learn from what he believes the Ghanaian president is doing.

“Mahama is the best in Africa. He is doing what other presidents are supposed to do, let them copy him; the man is good,” he declared.

The veteran actor’s praise for Mahama comes during his stay in Ghana, where he is part of a major Nigerian cast participating in the filming of an international movie project led by Ghanaian actor and filmmaker Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as LilWin.

The movie, titled A Journey to Africa, is being filmed at Nzulezu in Ghana’s Western Region and brings together established names from both the Ghanaian and Nigerian entertainment industries.

While interacting with the Nigerian actors on set, LilWin reportedly spoke about the possibility of taking the visiting stars to the Flagstaff House, the official presidential office, to meet President Mahama.

LilWin explained that the distance between Nzulezu and Accra made an immediate visit difficult, but he promised to help arrange an opportunity for the actors to meet the President when they return to Ghana for the premiere of the movie.

The production has attracted several well-known Nollywood personalities, including Kanayo O Kanayo, Patience Ozokwo, Mike Ezuruonye, Charles Awurum, Zubby Michael, Destiny Etiko and Harry Anyanwu.

Their presence in Ghana forms part of a growing collaboration between the Ghanaian and Nigerian film industries, with actors from both countries coming together for a production that seeks to bring talents from the two entertainment markets onto one project.

Anyanwu’s comments about Mahama were therefore made within the broader setting of his current involvement in the movie production, which has taken the Nigerian cast to different locations in Ghana.

The actor’s endorsement of the President also adds a political dimension to the visit, although his comments were primarily focused on what he described as Mahama’s leadership qualities and the example he believes other African presidents should follow.

The production at Nzulezu is expected to further strengthen the creative relationship between Ghana and Nigeria, with the involvement of major actors from both countries giving the project an international character.

As the cast continues work on A Journey to Africa, the Nigerian stars are also expected to return to Ghana for the movie’s premiere, when LilWin has indicated that he hopes to facilitate their proposed meeting with President Mahama.
