Following his death, his personal assistant, Babadunni, alleged that the singer was taken to seven or eight hospitals but did not receive the required medical attention at some facilities.

However, the University College Hospital, Ibadan, said it had no record of the singer being brought to the facility. The cause of his death has not been publicly established in the information available.

His death also sparked controversy over his burial arrangements, with disagreements reported between his family and his wife over where he should be laid to rest.

His father, Muniru Adekunle Olayemi, reportedly wanted his son buried in the house he built or beside his late mother in Osun State.

The dispute unfolded alongside other family concerns following the singer’s death. His grandmother, Sabitiyu Olayemi, had alleged that he neglected her for years, while a man who identified himself as his uncle, Lawal Ademola, called for an impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
