The late Ayawaso East Member of Parliament, Mahama Naser Toure, will be laid to rest on Monday, January 5.

The announcement was made by the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso North, Yussif Jajah, following the death of Mr. Toure on Sunday, January 4, after a short illness.

Mr. Jajah explained that with support from President John Dramani Mahama, arrangements were quickly made to secure the release of the late MP’s body.

In keeping with Islamic tradition, a Janazah prayer will be held on Monday morning at exactly 10:00 a.m. at the constituency office located along the Kanda Highway. The prayer will be led by the National Chief Imam.

After the prayer session, the body of the late MP will be taken to the Madina Cemetery for burial.

Mr. Jajah also paid tribute to the late Mahama Naser Toure, describing him as a respected leader whose death has left a big gap in Parliament and in the Ayawaso East constituency.

He noted that the late MP, who served four terms in Parliament, made a strong impact through his work and inspired many young politicians. He recalled community projects such as “Operation Cement Your Lungu,” which helped improve sanitation and infrastructure in parts of Nima.

According to him, Mr. Toure also contributed to development in the constituency through road projects, improvements at the Nima Police Station, and support for the Nima Government Hospital.

Mr. Jajah said whoever succeeds the late MP will have a challenging task continuing his work and building on the legacy he left behind.
