In the statement issued on Tuesday, October 27, Mutua assured that no victim who qualifies for compensation will be sidelined.
“Victims who have not yet submitted their claims are urged to file their claims before the deadline so that they can be considered. It is our commitment that no eligible victim shall be left behind,” the notice read.
He said that every claim received by the deadline, including those already submitted, will be processed and authenticated, and victims informed of the outcome.
“Each claim will undergo careful verification and authentication before a decision is made. The Panel will inform each claimant of the decision on their claim in due course,” the press release read.
Mutua urged all eligible applicants to remain patient as the panel processed the applications.
He said that the Panel continues to make progress in processing and compensating claims across different categories of harm, including fatalities, injuries, sexual violence, economic loss and other recognised harm.
The Panel Chairperson reaffirmed its accountability to victims and will continue to provide periodic updates to the public on the status of the programme.
He stated that through direct engagement with victims and beneficiaries, the panel has understood the concerns, clarified the status of the claims, and treated them with the dignity and respect they deserve.
Mutua said that the Panel remains committed to ensuring that every eligible victim is treated fairly and with dignity.
