Sifuna’s Linda Mwananchi Makes Major Move as Wamboka Reveals What Is Set to Happen on Friday

Bumula Member of Parliament Jack Wamboka has revealed details of a major political event planned by the Linda Mwananchi Movement, confirming that the outfit will officially launch its political party in Nairobi on Friday, October 30, 2026.

Wamboka made the announcement on Tuesday, October 27, during the burial of the mother of former Bumula MP Bifwoli Wakoli. He disclosed that the ceremony would take place in Lavington before the movement’s leaders travel to Kwale County for a political rally on Saturday, October 31.

“We will be launching our Linda Mwananchi party officially on Friday, October 30, 2026, and from there we will be heading to Kwale County,” Wamboka stated.

The announcement clarifies the purpose of the widely publicised Friday event, which had generated speculation among supporters following promotional messages shared across social media platforms.

The planned launch marks an important step for the movement as it seeks to establish its political identity and expand its influence ahead of the 2027 General Election. The subsequent Kwale gathering is expected to provide a platform for mobilising supporters along the Coast.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna had previously hinted at the launch while addressing political aspirants in Webuye on October 17. He said the movement would invite them once the date for the event had been confirmed.

The initiative follows efforts to shift from The Equitable Party (TEP) identity to the Linda Mwananchi Movement (LMM), a political outfit associated with Sifuna and other leaders who have challenged the direction taken by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

Sifuna has urged supporters to embrace the new identity, saying the rebranding process had received approval from the relevant authorities.

With the party launch scheduled ahead of the Kwale rally, attention will focus on the leaders attending the event and the political direction the movement intends to pursue as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.
