Moment El-Rufai Kissed His Wife In Court Before Proceedings

According to a report by the official Facebook page of Channels Television on Monday, October 26, 2026, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai shared a brief affectionate moment with his wife before entering the Federal High Court in Abuja.

El-Rufai reportedly kissed his wife outside the courtroom as he arrived for proceedings in his wiretapping trial involving National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu.

The public display of affection created a mild drama at the court premises, where journalists, lawyers and supporters had gathered ahead of the day’s proceedings.

The former governor is facing trial over allegations connected to the wiretapping case. The court was expected to rule on an issue relating to the proceedings.

The moment between El-Rufai and his wife quickly attracted attention because it occurred shortly before the former governor entered the courtroom.

A video shared online showed the couple together before the hearing.

The scene prompted reactions from social media users, with many describing it as a display of affection and support amid the ongoing legal battle.

The development came as security agencies, including the Department of State Services and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, remained part of public discussions surrounding the case.

However, the affectionate exchange did not affect the scheduled court proceedings. El-Rufai proceeded into the courtroom as the legal process continued.

The former governor has continued to attend court in connection with the case, while the parties await the court’s decision on the matter before it.

The case has attracted public interest because of the personalities involved and the allegations surrounding alleged wiretapping. Further proceedings will determine the next stage of the trial.
