If He Went to Another Club, I’d Really Be Jealous– Super Eagles Star Makes Bold Claim About Teammate

‎According to a post on Le Marca Sports official X account on Monday, October 26, 2026, Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen has admitted he would be jealous if Galatasaray teammate Aleksey Batrakov joined another club.

Osimhen made the remarks after inspiring Galatasaray to a 2-1 victory over arch-rivals Fenerbahçe in the Turkish Süper Lig on Monday night.

The Nigerian forward scored twice to secure all three points for the reigning champions at RAMS Park.

Osimhen spoke highly of the 21-year-old Batrakov, describing him as an exceptional footballer and an equally impressive person.

“Batrakov is a very unusual, incredible player and truly an incredible person as well,” Osimhen said.

The Nigerian international also praised the midfielder’s attitude since arriving in Istanbul, noting his willingness to learn about Galatasaray’s history, understand the club’s culture, and build a strong relationship with the supporters.

Osimhen added that head coach Okan Buruk trusts Batrakov, making it seem as though the young midfielder has been playing alongside his teammates for much longer than he actually has.

The former Napoli striker further revealed that he had watched Batrakov’s previous matches to understand his playing style and improve their connection in attack.

“I’m trying to learn his game too. I watched his previous matches and we talk in detail. We’re trying to create setups in a different way with him,” Osimhen explained.

He said their conversations include the passes Batrakov intends to make and the runs he expects Osimhen to execute, describing this level of communication as an important part of their developing partnership.

The Super Eagles forward then made his feelings about the Russian midfielder clear, saying he would be jealous if Batrakov moved to another club.

“If he went to another club, I’d really be jealous. I hope he never gets injured and helps us in a good way. All my best wishes are with him,” Osimhen added.

Batrakov joined Galatasaray from Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow in August 2026, signing a five-year contract.

According to Galatasaray’s official announcement, the Turkish champions agreed to pay €25 million for the midfielder, with Lokomotiv Moscow also entitled to 15 percent of any profit from a future sale.

Meanwhile, Osimhen’s brace against Fenerbahçe underlined his importance to Galatasaray.

He opened the scoring in the 29th minute before doubling the advantage in the 44th minute, giving the home side a two-goal cushion at half-time.

Fenerbahçe reduced the deficit through İrfan Can Kahveci in the 62nd minute, but Galatasaray held on to claim a crucial derby victory.

The result strengthened Galatasaray’s position in the title race.
