NTSA Hunts Drivers of Mercedes-Benz and Lamborghini After Dangerous Nairobi Expressway Racing Video
The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has launched an investigation into dangerous driving after a viral video showed two luxury vehicles allegedly racing and overtaking other motorists recklessly along the Nairobi Expressway.
In a statement issued on Monday, October 26, 2026, the authority appealed to members of the public to provide information that could help identify the drivers and establish the vehicles’ registration numbers.
NTSA condemned the behaviour, warning that reckless driving puts motorists, passengers and other road users at serious risk.
The footage circulating on social media shows a Mercedes-Benz C-Class and a Lamborghini being driven at high speed, with the vehicles appearing to overtake other cars dangerously.
The video also captures moments when the luxury vehicles come close to other motorists while manoeuvring around traffic. Collision-warning alarms can be heard as occupants react to the risky driving.
The incident has triggered public concern, with Kenyans calling on authorities to identify those involved and take appropriate action.
In response, NTSA urged anyone with credible information about the vehicles, particularly their registration numbers, to send the details through the authority’s direct messages on social media.
The authority said it would investigate the incident and take appropriate action based on its findings.
The probe comes as road safety remains a major concern in Kenya following a series of fatal accidents in recent weeks.
On Sunday, October 25, 2026, a road crash at Kanga, near Mtito Andei, along the Nairobi–Mombasa Highway claimed 25 lives. The tragedy prompted the Ministry of Roads and Transport to announce tougher measures aimed at preventing further loss of life on Kenyan roads.
The latest incident has renewed calls for motorists to observe traffic rules, particularly on high-speed roads such as the Nairobi Expressway, where dangerous overtaking can have devastating consequences.
NTSA’s appeal for information places the focus on identifying the drivers involved as the authority works to establish the circumstances surrounding the viral footage.
