Photos have emerged of three Mombasa pastors who died in the deadly road accident along Mombasa Road that claimed 24 lives.

The crash occurred on October 25, 2026, near Mtito Andei along the Nairobi to Mombasa Highway, leaving families, friends and church members mourning their loved ones. The deceased were identified as Pastor Joseph Vura of Campaign for Salvation and Healing Ministry Church, Apostle Fonex Paul of River of Restoration Church and Pastor Isaac Juma of Grace Healing Church.

Their deaths have plunged the Bangladesh informal settlement in Jomvu Sub County, Mombasa, into mourning as residents struggle to accept the sudden loss of their spiritual leaders.

One of the most heartbreaking scenes unfolded inside a small church made of iron sheets in the settlement, where Assistant Pastor Patrick Wetaba broke down in tears following the death of his mentor, Reverend Joseph Vura.

Wetaba had reportedly sent money to Vura just hours before the accident to buy breakfast at a roadside stop along the busy highway.

Sadly, what began as an ordinary journey ended in tragedy when the crash claimed the pastor’s life alongside those of other passengers.

The news has devastated church members who relied on Vura for prayers, spiritual guidance and encouragement during difficult times. The three clergymen were important figures in their respective congregations, offering support and comfort to people in their communities. Their sudden deaths have left worshippers struggling to come to terms with the loss.

The accident has also raised concerns about road safety along the busy Nairobi to Mombasa Highway, which serves thousands of travellers and motorists.

As news of the victims continues to emerge, relatives, friends and fellow worshippers are left mourning the people they lost in the tragedy.

In Mombasa, the deaths of the three pastors have left a deep sense of sorrow among residents, with many struggling to accept that their religious leaders were among the 24 people who perished in the devastating crash.
