Eugene Wamalwa Gifts Gachagua With a Bull as DAP-K Leaders Storm Wamunyoro for Crucial Talks
Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) leader Eugene Wamalwa has gifted former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua a bull during a visit to his Wamunyoro residence, where opposition leaders held consultations on uniting ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Gachagua welcomed Wamalwa and the DAP-K leadership for discussions focused on what he described as the liberation of Kenya and the formation of the country’s sixth administration.
In remarks following the meeting, Gachagua said the leaders had agreed that settling on a single presidential candidate would give the opposition its best chance of winning next year’s election.
He added that all those present were committed to achieving that goal, signalling a push to bring opposition leaders together ahead of the presidential contest.
The meeting comes as opposition figures intensify consultations over how to challenge President William Ruto in 2027, with the question of a joint presidential candidate emerging as a key issue.
Gachagua also emphasised the need for unity, using the slogan, “Gather all and scatter none,” to urge political leaders to consolidate their support rather than allow divisions to weaken their ambitions.
Wamalwa’s visit and the presentation of the bull added a symbolic moment to the consultations, as the two leaders and the DAP-K team discussed their shared political objectives.
The key test for the opposition will be whether the ongoing talks can produce a united political front and an agreement on a single candidate before Kenyans head to the ballot in 2027.
