Rigathi Gachagua Breaks Silence After Hosting Eugene Wamalwa At His Wamunyoro Residence

Former DP Rigathi Gachagua has broken his silence after hosting DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa and other party officials at his Wamunyoro residence for political consultations ahead of the 2027 General Election. In a statement shared on Monday evening, October 26, Gachagua described the meeting as an opportunity for the leaders to discuss the country’s political future and explore ways of working together towards what he termed the liberation of Kenya.

Gachagua said the discussions also focused on the formation of the country’s proposed Sixth Administration, signalling continued consultations among opposition figures as political realignments gather momentum ahead of the next election.

The former deputy president disclosed that the leaders had agreed on the importance of identifying a single presidential candidate to represent their political camp in the 2027 contest.

According to Gachagua, presenting one candidate would provide a common platform for the leaders as they seek to challenge President William Ruto’s administration in the upcoming polls.

He added that the leaders were committed to pursuing the objective, suggesting that discussions around cooperation and possible political arrangements would remain central to their engagements.

The meeting brought together Wamalwa and members of the DAP-K leadership at Gachagua’s residence, although the former deputy president did not disclose further details about the specific agreements reached or the process through which a joint presidential candidate would be selected.

Gachagua added his message with the phrase, “Gather All and scatter none,” emphasising the importance of bringing political leaders together rather than allowing divisions to weaken their efforts.

The latest engagement comes as political leaders continue consultations and build alliances ahead of the 2027 General Election.
