Methu Reveals What Ndindi Nyoro Told Him After Seeking Financial Help for His Campaign

Nyandarua Senator Kaba Methu has denied claims that President William Ruto paid for his house, saying he obtained it through a mortgage. He has also described money received from Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro for a vehicle as a loan, not campaign funding.

Methu addressed the allegations during a television interview on Sunday, October 25. He said Nyoro had advised him to use a mortgage and challenged the MP to provide evidence.

The dispute follows remarks by Nyoro, who alleged that Ruto sponsored Methu’s house in 2024. Nyoro also claimed Methu used part of campaign funds collected during the Ol Kalou contest to buy a vehicle.

Methu rejected both allegations. He said Nyoro did not finance him personally or support the Democratic Congress Party (DCP) candidate during the campaign. According to Methu, he contacted Nyoro several times to seek help because the party faced a strong opponent backed by state machinery.

The senator claimed Nyoro told him he was experiencing financial difficulties. Methu said this did not match the MP’s claim that he had helped fund the campaign.

Methu acknowledged receiving money from Nyoro towards the purchase of a vehicle. He insisted that the money was a loan and not a contribution from shared campaign resources.

He also said he had spoken to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. According to Methu, Gachagua confirmed that he had not received money from Nyoro either.

Nyoro had earlier accused Methu of acting as a mole for Ruto, a claim the senator disputed. The disagreement comes as political leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The two leaders’ accounts differ over the house, the vehicle and campaign support. The claims were not independently verified in the report, and Nyoro’s response to Methu’s latest remarks was not included.
