Former Adaklu NDC Secretary Hayford Amenuvie Takes Over Constituency Chairmanship
Hayford Amenuvie has been elected Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Adaklu Constituency of the Volta Region following the party’s constituency executive elections held on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
Amenuvie, who previously served as the constituency secretary, will now lead the party’s local structure as the NDC continues preparations for the 2028 general elections.
The elections also produced a new team of executives who will oversee party organisation and grassroots activities in the constituency. Eugene Akpatsa was elected Constituency Secretary, while Togbe Amanfu secured the position of Vice Chairman unopposed. Millicent Dzidefo Adzah was elected Deputy Secretary.
Alexander Kormla Seshie emerged as Organiser, with Simon Adamah elected Deputy Organiser. In the communications portfolio, Christopher Galenkui was elected Communications Officer unopposed, while Emil Akapator secured the deputy position.
The youth wing will be led by Mark Dodzi Hoenyekor, who was elected Youth Organiser unopposed. Wilson Soglo was elected Deputy Youth Organiser.
Gershon Keti won the Treasurer position, while Ernestina Kadey was elected Deputy Treasurer. Gifty Fiagbor became Women’s Organiser unopposed, with Edinam Dorfe also elected unopposed as Deputy Women’s Organiser.
Adamu Abdulai, the Zongo Caucus Coordinator, was elected unopposed to represent the caucus on the constituency executive.
The outcome establishes the leadership team that will be responsible for coordinating the NDC’s activities at the constituency level. The executives are expected to support grassroots mobilisation, organise party members and help maintain the party’s local structures.
Amenuvie’s election also marks a transition from his previous role as constituency secretary to the chairmanship, placing him at the head of the Adaklu constituency organisation.
The polls formed part of the NDC’s nationwide reorganisation exercise to elect constituency executives ahead of the 2028 general elections. Through the exercise, the party is selecting local leaders who will help manage its organisational work and coordinate activities among members.
With the new executives now elected, attention will turn to how the team works together to strengthen the party’s structures in Adaklu as preparations for the next general elections continue.
