The Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council, Prof. Nnanyelugo Ike-Muonso, has urged the Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to abandon his 2027 presidential ambition and support President Bola Tinubuโs re-election bid, arguing that the South should complete its eight-year tenure before power returns to the North.
Ike-Muonso, who made the call at an interactive session in Abuja on Monday, also urged the former Anambra State governor to consider joining the ruling All Progressives Congress to contribute to its policy discussions and development agenda.
His position comes amid political manoeuvring ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the question of presidential power rotation between the North and South remaining a key consideration in debates over political alliances and succession.
Nigerian comedian and actor Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has apologised to fans disappointed that the Cardiff leg of his โAY Live: Single and Not Searchingโ UK tour failed to go ahead as expected.
The event, scheduled for Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Valegate Retail Park in Cardiff, Wales, reportedly saw hours of delays and confusion, leaving many ticket holders unable to see any of the advertised performers.
AY, in a statement shared on Monday on Instagram, said he and the other comedians on the bill had travelled to Cardiff and arrived at the venue but could not perform because of unresolved payment commitments with the organisers.
โMy fellow comedians and I travelled to Cardiff to perform and eventually entered the venue. Unfortunately, unresolved payment commitments delayed our appearance, and by the time we arrived at the hall, most of the audience had left,โ he said.
