Bank of Ghana Releases Official Daily Exchange Rates for Monday, October 26, 2026
The Bank of Ghana has announced the interbank exchange rates for Monday, October 26, 2026, using market transactions recorded at the close of business on Friday, October 23.
The published rates for the three major foreign currencies are as follows:
US Dollar: Buying at GH₵11.6442 and selling at GH₵11.6558.
British Pound Sterling: Buying at GH₵15.5636 and selling at GH₵15.5803.
Euro: Buying at GH₵13.0348 and selling at GH₵13.0467.
Among the three currencies, the British pound has the highest value against the Ghanaian cedi, followed by the euro and the US dollar.
The buying rate indicates how much a bank pays to purchase foreign currency from a customer. The selling rate shows how much the customer must pay to obtain foreign currency from the bank. The difference between these rates provides a margin for banks to cover their expenses and trading costs.
The exchange rates are useful for importers calculating the cost of goods purchased abroad, exporters estimating their income in cedis, and businesses preparing budgets. They also help travellers, students studying overseas, and families receiving money from abroad plan their finances.
Customers should remember that these figures are interbank rates and may differ from the rates offered by individual banks and forex bureaus. It is advisable to check the final rate with the relevant provider before making an exchange.
The Bank of Ghana releases daily exchange rates on working days as part of its efforts to improve transparency in the foreign exchange market. The public can obtain additional information through its official website, www.bog.gov.gh, and verified social media platforms.
