Forward Nigeria Slams ADC, Defends Tinubu’s Kaduna Rally

The National Movement for Tinubu–Shettima 2027, Forward Nigeria, has slammed the African Democratic Congress (ADC) over its criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s campaign flag-off in Kaduna, challenging the opposition party to present concrete policy alternatives instead of trading insults.

The movement described Saturday’s rally as a demonstration of popular support for Tinubu’s re-election bid, insisting that the opposition’s reaction reflected frustration over the scale of mobilisation recorded at the event.

In a statement on Sunday signed by its National Coordinating Chairman, Prof. Rufai Ahmed Alkali, Forward Nigeria said tens of thousands of supporters attended the rally in an atmosphere of peace and order.

It also cited reported commendations of the rally’s turnout, mobilisation and coordination by stakeholders, including Yusuf Buhari, son of former President Muhammadu Buhari, arguing that the opposition could not dismiss the political significance of the gathering.

The movement challenged the ADC to explain its own record, vision and proposed solutions to Nigeria’s challenges, accusing the party of being preoccupied with internal crises rather than presenting a credible alternative to Nigerians.

Defending Tinubu’s economic policies, Forward Nigeria said the administration’s macroeconomic reforms had helped address market distortions, improve transparency and restore confidence in the capital market.

It argued that the reforms required difficult decisions avoided by previous administrations, adding that those who benefited from the old economic arrangements were now among the loudest critics of the President.

According to the movement, Tinubu’s policies are intended to build an economy that works for farmers, traders, artisans and young Nigerians rather than a privileged few.

Forward Nigeria urged the ADC to move beyond criticism and provide specific policy proposals, measurable targets and implementation timelines, insisting that Nigerians should judge political parties by their policies, performance and capacity to deliver.

The movement also called on supporters of Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, alongside APC candidates nationwide, to intensify public engagement and defend the administration’s record ahead of the 2027 general election.

It expressed confidence that the Kaduna rally marked the beginning of a broader mobilisation campaign that would culminate in the re-election of the Tinubu–Shettima ticket in 2027.
