Kwame A-Plus: If Anyone Contest Me In Gomoa Central And Get Even 5% Votes, I Will Concede My Seat

Gomoa Central Member of Parliament Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus, during an interview on GH One Tv on Sunday October 25, 2026 made a bold declaration about his political standing in the constituency, expressing strong confidence in his support base and electoral chances.

The outspoken legislator has stated that he would be willing to concede his parliamentary seat if any candidate who contests against him in Gomoa Central manages to secure even five per cent of the total votes cast.

According to A-Plus, his confidence in making such a declaration reflects his belief that he enjoys overwhelming support among the people he represents.

In his remarks, A-Plus said, “If anyone contests me in Gomoa Central and gets even 5% of the votes, I will concede my parliamentary seat to them.” The statement suggests that the MP believes his political

influence in the constituency is considerably stronger than that of any potential challenger. However, the declaration also raises questions about the basis of his confidence and the level of support he believes he commands among voters.

The Gomoa Central constituency, like other electoral areas in Ghana, remains an important battleground for political parties and individual candidates seeking to represent their constituents in Parliament.

Electoral contests in such constituencies often involve intense campaigning, public debates, and efforts by candidates to convince voters that they can best address their concerns.

A-Plus’s declaration could therefore become a major talking point among political observers, supporters, and critics as discussions about his political future continue. His statement may also put pressure on potential opponents to demonstrate their popularity and ability to compete against him in future elections.

Nevertheless, the actual strength of a candidate’s support can only be established through the electoral process. Voters ultimately determine who represents them in Parliament through their ballots, making election results the most reliable measure of a candidate’s popularity.
