James Abaka, popularly known as Dadesen Wura, dies in road accident

James Abaka, popularly known as Dadesen Wura, has died in a road accident along the Amposie-Brofoyedu stretch, while seven other occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries.

The injured passengers are receiving treatment at St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu.

Reports indicate that Mr Abaka was travelling back to Assin Fosu after representing his local church at a funeral in Adansi Huruyie. He was among eight occupants travelling in a silver Toyota Voxy when the accident occurred.

The vehicle reportedly suffered a rear tyre burst, causing the driver to lose control. It subsequently veered off the road and crashed into the surrounding bush, killing Mr Abaka at the scene.

One of the survivors, Isaac Mensah, told Alfred Amoh that passengers had noticed an unusual sound coming from one of the rear tyres before the crash.

According to Mr Mensah, the occupants alerted the driver to the problem, but he indicated that he would have the vehicle checked by a mechanic after reaching the main station.

He said the tyre burst shortly after the concerns were raised, resulting in the crash.
