GoldBod shifts daily gold price announcements by one hour

The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) will announce its daily local gold prices one hour later from Monday, October 26, 2026, following the end of British Summer Time in the United Kingdom.

Under the revised schedule, the morning gold price announcement will move from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Ghana time, while the afternoon announcement will shift from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

In a compliance notice dated October 25, the Board directed all licensed gold buyers to adjust their operations to reflect the new times and ensure compliance with the directive.

The adjustment is linked to changes in the time difference between Ghana and the UK, which affect when the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) releases its morning and afternoon gold price benchmarks.

GoldBod said the revised schedule would remain in force until March 27, 2027, with the previous announcement times expected to resume on March 28, 2027, when the UK returns to British Summer Time.

The Board clarified that the change applies only to the timing of the international pricing benchmarks and the corresponding local gold price announcements.

It said all existing rules, procedures and requirements governing local gold pricing and trading would remain unchanged.

Licensed gold buyers have therefore been asked to observe the revised announcement times when undertaking gold purchase transactions throughout the period.

GoldBod added that it would provide further operational guidance if necessary.
