Penalty points for people with learner’s licences in South Africa

Motorists who accumulate demerit points on their learner’s licence under the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences (AARTO) system can only clear them once they are issued a full driver’s licence.This is according to the Road Traffic Infringement Agency (RTIA), which has published several explainers about how the new traffic fine system and the upcoming demerit points system will work.
