I Looked on the Bed and I Saw A Vulture on My Bed, Dead – Okpebholo

According to report by Nigerian Tribune on Saturday, October 24, 2026, Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has narrated an unusual incident he said occurred shortly after he won the state’s governorship election, claiming that he discovered a dead vulture on his bed when he returned home.

The governor described the experience as spiritually significant while speaking to members of a church.

He also recounted another strange incident involving a bird that allegedly died in his office after he ordered the demolition of the Black House in Sapele, Delta State.

According to Okpebholo, the first incident happened after several exhausting days of election activities during which he barely slept.

He said he returned home extremely tired and was about to get onto his bed when something unexpectedly stopped him.

Rather than proceeding immediately, the governor said he looked carefully at the bed and was shocked by what he saw.

“When I won election, we went to the house. I was tired. I had not slept for days and I wanted to jump into the bed, something held me back,” he said.

Okpebholo added, “I looked on the bed and I saw a vulture on my bed, dead.”

The governor said he regarded the incident as more than an ordinary occurrence, interpreting the presence of the dead vulture as a sign connected to his electoral victory.

He further told the congregation about another bird that reportedly died inside his office. Okpebholo linked the incident to a government decision he had taken concerning the demolition of the Black House in Sapele.

Although he did not provide further details about the circumstances surrounding the bird’s death, the governor presented both experiences as events that carried spiritual significance.

His account comes amid his broader public comments about developments in Edo State and his belief that some unusual occurrences surrounding his political journey may have deeper meanings.
