Okpebholo Reveals How He Found Dead Vulture on His Bed After Governorship Election Victory

According to report by Nigerian Tribune on Saturday, October 24, 2026, Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has narrated an unusual incident he said occurred shortly after he won the governorship election, claiming that he discovered a dead vulture on his bed when he returned home.

The governor described the experience as spiritually significant while speaking to members of a church, where he recounted events surrounding his election victory.

According to Okpebholo, he had spent several days without adequate sleep during the election period and was extremely exhausted when he eventually returned home.

He said he was preparing to rest when something unexpectedly prevented him from getting onto his bed.

He explained that after being stopped, he looked closely and was shocked to find a dead vulture lying on the bed.

Okpebholo said, “When I won election, we went to the house. I was tired. I had not slept for days and I wanted to jump into the bed, something held me back.

“I looked on the bed and I saw a vulture on my bed, dead.”

The governor said he regarded the incident as more than an ordinary occurrence, interpreting the discovery as a possible spiritual sign connected to his electoral victory.

Okpebholo also recalled another strange incident involving a bird, which he linked to his administration’s decision to demolish the Black House in Sapele, Delta State.

He said a bird reportedly died inside his office after he issued the directive concerning the demolition.

The governor’s accounts were presented in the context of his broader reflections on events surrounding his political journey and experiences in office.

His narration has drawn attention because of the unusual nature of the incidents and the spiritual interpretation he attached to them.

Okpebholo did not provide further details about the circumstances surrounding the death of either bird but maintained that the experiences carried significance for him.
