Kalonzo Musyoka Breaks Silence On Pres Ruto’s Remarks About Their Political Rivalry

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has responded to President William Ruto’s remarks describing him as his main political competitor, accusing the Head of State of focusing on political attacks instead of addressing the country’s challenges.

In a statement shared on Saturday afternoon, October 24, Kalonzo said Ruto’s comments were among the most honest statements he had made during his four years in office.

The opposition leader made the remarks while attending a thanksgiving service at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Kamikau, Tharaka Ward, where he thanked residents for their warm reception & prayers.

Kalonzo also defended his busy schedule, revealing that he had travelled to Machakos and Mombasa before heading to London for two keynote addresses.

He later travelled to Rome for meetings with senior Catholic clergy before visiting Bondo.

According to Kalonzo, the engagements took place within three days, and he emphasised that he had not used a private jet or taxpayers’ money for the trips.

He further accused Ruto’s administration of relying on propaganda and misinformation, arguing that launching and relaunching projects while attacking political opponents would not change the realities facing Kenyans.

The Wiper leader maintained that his political focus remained on Kenya’s future and the Ukombozi movement, which he has continued to promote alongside opposition allies.

Kalonzo also used the statement to intensify his criticism of the President, declaring that the opposition’s collective political campaign would continue under the slogan “WANTAM.”

His remarks come amid growing political exchanges between government leaders and opposition figures as politicians position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
