Economy Is Stable But Ghanaians Are Still Suffering—Kpebu Praises Ato Forson But Drops Hard Truth

Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has acknowledged that the economy has stabilized under Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.

But according to him, that stability has not yet translated into real relief for ordinary Ghanaians.

Speaking on the state of the economy, Martin Kpebu said it is true that things have improved compared to how bad the economy was some months ago. He noted that under Ato Forson, there is some level of stability and the cedi is doing better.

However, he was quick to point out that the cost of living is still very high. According to him, prices of food, goods, and services in the market are still too expensive for the average Ghanaian.

He also mentioned transport fares, saying that despite the economic stability being talked about, trotro and taxi fares remain very high and are still burdening the people.

Kpebu explained that economic stability should be felt in the pockets of Ghanaians, not just in figures and reports. He said if people are still struggling to buy food and pay for transport, then more work needs to be done.

His comment has sparked conversations, with many Ghanaians agreeing that while the government deserves some credit for stabilizing the economy, the real test is whether prices will go down and life will become easier for everyone.

For now, the message is clear – the economy may be stable on paper, but on the ground, life is still hard.
