Minority Demands Immediate Dismissal of Sammy Gyamfi as GoldBod CEO Over Mining Remarks

The Minority Caucus in Parliament has called on President John Dramani Mahama to immediately dismiss Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) Chief Executive Officer Sammy Gyamfi over remarks attributed to him concerning small-scale mining licences and permits.In a statement dated October 23, 2026, the caucus expressed concern about the interpretation and implications of Gyamfi’s comments, arguing that they could undermine Ghana’s efforts to combat illegal small-scale mining, popularly known as galamsey.
