Kwankwaso said the gathering demonstrated the region’s resolve to support Tinubu for a second term, describing the endorsement as a commitment to national cohesion and a better Nigeria. Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the VIP Pavilion at the rally, he said the mobilisation had dispelled doubts about the North-West’s political position ahead of the 2027 presidential election. “Today, we of the North-West geopolitical zone have spoken loud and clear on who we stand for. “Our choice of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains our commitment to a better Nigeria and national cohesion,” Kwankwaso said. He argued that Tinubu’s re-election would provide an opportunity to strengthen equitable development and ensure a fair distribution of the country’s resources among the six geopolitical zones. According to him, the President’s administration represents a commitment to balancing the interests of the different regions, adding that expectations of national progress drove the North-West’s support. “Tinubu’s presidency stands for fair and equitable distribution of resources to all zones, and his return will be a blessing to the greater Nigeria of our dream,” he said. Kwankwaso also rejected the suggestion that the North’s backing for Tinubu was merely transactional, insisting that the region was prepared to honour its political commitment as the next general election approached. “Asiwaju is the northern candidate, and he will not promote anything outside his ambition because we are trustworthy people, and we shall deliver him come 2027,” he declared. He urged political stakeholders across the country to look beyond narrow political interests and prioritise national unity and collective progress. Kwankwaso maintained that the Kaduna rally had sent a strong political message about the North-West’s position, expressing confidence that the region would remain behind Tinubu as the 2027 election draws closer.
