BAT Drives “The Beast,” The Same Car Trump Drives And It Cost 20 Times More Than Benz S-Class— Dino Melaye

Senator Dino Melaye, a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his choice of official vehicle, alleging that it contradicts his promise to reduce the cost of governance in Nigeria.

Melaye made the remarks at an event covered by Symfoni TV, on Friday October 23, 2026, where he claimed that previous Nigerian presidents used Mercedes-Benz S-Class vehicles as their official cars before Tinubu assumed office.

According to the former senator, Tinubu opted for a more expensive vehicle, reportedly known as “The Beast,” instead of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class traditionally associated with previous Nigerian leaders.

Melaye alleged that the cost of Tinubu’s official vehicle was more than 20 times that of a Mercedes-Benz S-Class. He also compared the vehicle to the armoured presidential limousine used by United States President Donald Trump.

“Tinubu was the one who said he can’t use Mercedes. He is using a Beast, the same type that Trump is driving in America that cost more than 20 times what the S-Class will cost,” Melaye said.

The ADC chieftain further accused Tinubu of failing to fulfil his promise to reduce the cost of governance, suggesting that the president’s choice of an expensive official vehicle raises questions about the administration’s commitment to cutting government expenditure.
