“Mtu Asikutishe, Hakuna Serikali Bila ODM,” Junet Opens Up About Ruto’s UDA Government
Suna East MP Junet Mohamed has claimed that President William Ruto cannot win the 2027 General Election without the support of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), insisting that the ruling coalition should not underestimate the party’s political influence.
Junet made the remarks while reflecting on the political relationship between Ruto and ODM, recalling how the President sought the party’s support when he needed political allies.
“Ruto hawezi kushinda uchaguzi wa 2027 bila ODM, msidanganywe. Wakati Ruto alikuwa ananyamba-nyamba, alituita sisi tumsaidie,” Junet said.
His statement highlights the continuing debate over ODM’s role in the political arrangements ahead of the next general election, with leaders taking different positions on whether the party should continue cooperating with Ruto’s administration.
ODM has remained a significant player in Kenya’s political landscape, with its national network and established support base making it an important party in discussions about possible political alliances.
Junet’s remarks also come amid growing political activity as leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections. The relationship between ODM and Ruto’s camp has attracted attention, particularly as politicians debate the future of the broad-based political arrangement.
The Suna East legislator’s comments suggest that ODM should not be taken for granted when discussing the President’s political plans for 2027. However, the eventual outcome will depend on the decisions made by political parties, their leaders and voters.
The remarks are also likely to fuel further discussion among Kenyans about the role of political alliances in determining the direction of the next election.
As the campaign period approaches, the relationship between ODM and Ruto’s camp remains an important subject in national politics. Whether the two sides will maintain their current political cooperation or pursue separate paths remains to be seen.
Junet’s statement has added another voice to the ongoing debate about ODM’s political influence and its place in Kenya’s changing political landscape ahead of 2027.
