Kwame Dzokoto’s sister breaks silence on his sudden death

The family of late Ghanaian actor and broadcaster Seth Kwame Dzokoto is struggling to come to terms with his sudden death, with his sister, Gloria, recounting how a routine outing ended in devastating news.

Dzokoto, widely recognised for playing Judge Koboo in the popular television series Efiewura, died on Thursday, October 22, 2026, after collapsing during a panel discussion at Owass FM in Tarkwa, Western Region.

According to Gloria Dzokoto, the family had no reason to anticipate the tragedy when her younger brother informed them that he was heading out.

She disclosed that they heard of the news through a phone calll reporting that he had collapsed and needed medical attention.

She said the family hurried to the hospital, hoping he would recover, but were instead informed that he had died.

“He said he was going out. Not long after, we received a call that he had fainted. We rushed to the hospital and we were told that he had passed away,” she recounted.

Gloria explained that although Dzokoto lived in Accra, he had travelled to Tarkwa the night before his death. She said he drove himself from Accra to Tarkwa and later made his way to the radio station, making the news of his sudden collapse all the more difficult for the family to process.

The late entertainer leaves behind three children. Gloria also disclosed that she and Dzokoto were the only surviving siblings on their mother’s side of the family, while four siblings remained on their father’s side.

Dzokoto’s death has brought an end to a career that made him a familiar figure in Ghanaian homes through television, radio and comedy.

His broadcasting career included stints at Skyy Power FM in Takoradi and Hello FM in Kumasi.

Beyond entertainment, Dzokoto was involved in politics and contested the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress in the 2016 general election.

His death comes weeks after he publicly spoke about previous health difficulties and surgery abroad, which he said had been supported by businessman Ibrahim Mahama.

However, the medical cause of his collapse on October 22 has not been established in the available account of the incident.
